Project Overview
Project Start: June 2025
Project: Shandong Huangdao Oil Depot Lifting CCTV Pole Project
Client: PipeChina Group
Deployment: 3 × 12 m SS304 lifting CCTV poles
Production & Delivery Lead Time: 17 Days(Excludes on-site civil works, installation, and owner-supplied equipment commissioning.)
This project provided high-level support poles for monitoring and detection equipment within a large oil depot.
The poles were installed for equipment deployment around tank areas, loading and unloading zones, and other key monitoring points.
Located in a coastal petrochemical environment, the project required particular attention to corrosion resistance, high-level equipment maintenance, multi-device integration, and restricted on-site work.
The project started in June 2025. Site photos taken in October 2025 show the installed pole structures, top-mounted equipment integration, lifting mechanism, and lower access section in service.
1. Equipment Integration in a Restricted Petrochemical Area
Oil depot operations involve strict controls on equipment installation, cable routing, and maintenance activities.
The pole system therefore needed to provide stable mounting structures, pre-arranged equipment interfaces, and protected cable paths while minimizing secondary modification and high-level work on site.
2. Long-Term Corrosion Exposure in a Coastal Industrial Environment
The Huangdao site is located near the coast and is exposed to humid, salt-laden air and industrial atmospheric conditions.
The project therefore required a pole material with stronger long-term corrosion resistance and lower surface-maintenance demand than a conventional outdoor steel solution.
3. Maintenance of Equipment at 12 m Height
Monitoring equipment was installed at a 12 m height within a tightly controlled industrial site.
Conventional high-level maintenance would require additional work permits, access control, and safety arrangements. A lowering solution was therefore required to reduce routine work at height.
4. Structural Adaptation for Multiple Top-Mounted Devices
Multiple monitoring and detection devices were integrated at the pole top.
Differences in equipment weight, mounting position, and wind-exposed area affected the top structure load distribution.
The pole and mounting platform therefore needed to be matched to the actual equipment configuration to maintain installation stability and provide sufficient interface space.
5. Minimizing Secondary Work on Site
Cutting, welding, and temporary modification are tightly controlled within petrochemical facilities.
Equipment brackets, mounting interfaces, and cable paths therefore needed to be prepared as far as possible during factory fabrication.
A 12 m 304 stainless steel lifting CCTV pole solution was selected to address the combined challenges of coastal corrosion, restricted high-level maintenance, complex equipment integration, and controlled site installation.
1. 304 Stainless Steel for Coastal Industrial Exposure
304 stainless steel was selected as the main pole material according to the coastal environment and long-term corrosion-resistance requirements.
The stainless steel construction improved resistance to humid and salt-laden atmospheric exposure while reducing long-term surface-maintenance requirements.
2. Lifting Structure for Ground-Level Equipment Maintenance
The 12 m pole uses a mechanical lifting structure that allows the top equipment assembly to be lowered for major inspection, adjustment, and replacement.
This reduces the amount of maintenance work carried out at height and is better suited to petrochemical sites with strict work-at-height controls.
3. Custom Top-Mounted Multi-Device Platform
The top mounting structure was customized according to equipment quantity, mounting direction, and interface requirements.
Independent mounting positions were provided for different devices, with space reserved for adjustment, commissioning, replacement, and future maintenance.
4. Load Matching Based on the Actual Equipment Configuration
The pole and top mounting structure were configured according to actual equipment weight, installation positions, and wind-exposed area.
This project-specific load matching improved the stability of the high-level equipment installation and reduced the risk of excessive movement or mounting-interface deformation.
5. Factory-Prepared Equipment Interfaces and Cable Paths
Equipment mounting interfaces, major brackets, and cable paths were prepared during factory fabrication.
This reduced cutting, welding, and temporary modification at the oil depot, making on-site installation more suitable for a controlled industrial environment.
